False Verification Information = Instant Suspension
Providing false or fraudulent information during advertiser verification is now explicitly treated as intentional circumvention — resulting in immediate account suspension.
What Changed
On November 4, 2025, Google updated its Circumventing Systems policy to classify submission of false or fraudulent information during advertiser verification as intentional circumvention — Google’s most severe enforcement category.
Unlike most policy violations which come with a 7-day warning period, circumventing systems violations are classified as egregious. This means immediate account suspension with no prior warning. Even minor modifications to dates, addresses, or documents trigger this penalty.
The update reinforces Google’s push to strengthen advertiser verification integrity. Suspended advertisers lose verified status, have accounts suspended, and face potential permanent exclusion from the platform.
Who's Affected
- All advertisers globally subject to Google’s verification programs
- Agencies managing multiple client accounts — one fraudulent submission can cascade
- New advertisers entering the platform who must complete verification
- Advertisers in regulated industries with more extensive verification requirements
- Resellers and affiliate marketers operating multiple accounts
Action Steps to Protect Your Account
- 1Audit all verification documents currently on file — ensure business names, addresses, and registration numbers are accurate
- 2Never alter government-issued IDs or business registration documents in any way
- 3Update verification promptly if your business details change (address, legal name, ownership)
- 4Establish internal compliance processes so anyone submitting verification uses only original documents
- 5Maintain backup advertising channels — do not rely solely on Google Ads without a contingency
- 6Contact Google support proactively if you have questions about acceptable documents
