What Loi Influenceurs (France Influencer Law) means

Loi No. 2023-451 du 9 juin 2023 (Loi Influenceurs) is the world's first comprehensive law dedicated to commercial influencer activity. The law applies to any creator who promotes goods, services, or causes for compensation to a French audience, regardless of where the creator is based. Core obligations include: prominent disclosure of paid relationships using either 'Publicité' or 'Collaboration commerciale' labels, mandatory contracts with brands above defined revenue thresholds, prohibition of promoting cosmetic surgery, gambling outside licensed contexts, financial trading without authorisation, and certain animal-related products. ARPP and DGCCRF have active enforcement authority, and the law has triggered enforcement actions against creators and brands operating outside compliance.
