What Alcohol Advertising means

Alcohol advertising is a heavily regulated category across all major ad platforms. Requirements typically include mandatory age-gating (21+ in the US, varying by country), prohibition of targeting minors, restrictions on depicting excessive consumption, and compliance with local alcohol advertising laws. Meta requires advertisers to target only legal drinking age users and comply with local laws. Google restricts alcohol ads in many countries and requires LegitScript certification for addiction treatment advertising. Additional rules often prohibit associating alcohol with driving, athletic performance, or social/sexual success. Some countries (e.g., France's Loi Evin) have near-total bans on alcohol advertising.
