What AGCom means

AGCom (Autorità per le Garanzie nelle Comunicazioni) is Italy's converged communications regulator, established in 1997 and covering broadcasting, telecommunications, postal services, and — under Italy's DSA implementation — online intermediary services. AGCom is Italy's designated Digital Services Coordinator under the EU Digital Services Act, with responsibilities including supervision of Italy-established hosting and intermediary services, coordination with the European Commission on VLOP enforcement, trusted-flagger certification, and complaints handling. AGCom additionally enforces Italian statutes on online content including copyright enforcement under the AGCom Regulation 680/13 expedited takedown procedure, the 2023 Decreto Caivano provisions on online minor protection, and Italy's national rules implementing the EU Audiovisual Media Services Directive for video-sharing platforms. AGCom publishes its decisions, sanctions, and DSA-related action through agcom.it. AuditSocials monitors AGCom DSA decisions, copyright enforcement orders, and minor-protection rules affecting in-scope social platforms.
