Google will update the Canada, United Kingdom and United States country-specific sections of its Healthcare and medicines policy in November 2026 to add a new certification option for telemedicine advertisers, AuditSocials' Policy Tracker shows. Google posted the notice on its official Advertising Policies Help Center on November 4, 2026.

Under the update, telemedicine advertisers accredited by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) Healthcare Merchant Accreditation Program will be eligible to apply for Google Ads telemedicine certification once the policy is published. Advertisers must be NABP-accredited before applying. Google says the new route is an additional option and doesn't impact the existing certification options in these countries.

AuditSocials' crawler recorded the notice on November 5, 2026, the day after Google posted it, and AuditSocials rated the change medium severity. Google gives November 2026 as the timing but no specific date.

The change concerns telemedicine advertisers in the three countries. Those holding NABP Healthcare Merchant Accreditation can apply once the updated policy is published; those without it need the accreditation first. Advertisers already certified through an existing option need no change.
