Google has added a line to its Dangerous products or services advertising policy saying that, beginning October 2026, select firearm accessories will be allowed in the United States, AuditSocials' Policy Tracker shows. The new wording appears on Google's official policy page.

AuditSocials' crawler recorded the change on October 28, 2026; the line was not on the page when the crawler checked it on October 27, 2026. Google gives October 2026 as the start but no specific day. AuditSocials rated the change medium severity.

The line links to Google's Guns, gun parts, and related products policy, which limits the allowance to gun parts and components that do not require a permit, do not convert a semi-automatic to an automatic weapon, and are not regulated at the state or federal level. Google gives tripods, bipods, scopes and sights as examples.

Outside those conditions, and outside the United States, the policy still does not allow ads for parts essential to or enhancing a gun's functionality. Ads for parts that increase a gun's safety, such as gun locks and trigger locks, remain allowed.

The change affects paid ads from US sellers of gun parts and accessories, mainly e-commerce and direct-to-consumer retailers. Eligibility depends on each product meeting all three conditions.

As of October 30, 2026, the same Guns, gun parts, and related products page also lists tripods, bipods, scopes and sights among its examples of parts that are not allowed.
