Meta now limits US-targeted ads for investment products and opportunities to accredited brokerages and licensed financial advisors verified through its financial services verification process, AuditSocials' Policy Tracker shows. The new wording appears on Meta's official Restricted: Financial Services policy page.

Meta's change log dates the update October 29, 2026; Meta did not give a separate effective date. AuditSocials' crawler recorded the change on October 30, 2026, rated it high severity and logged it as the third change to the page in 2026. It follows an October 26, 2026 update in which identity verification for financial services advertisers went from "may be required" to "are required".

Under the page's Additional Restrictions for investment products and opportunities, ads targeting the United States can no longer promote any investment products or opportunities, "including in the context of educational or informational content," unless the advertiser is a verified accredited brokerage or licensed financial advisor. Previously, the US section listed one restriction: no promotion of investment products or opportunities that suggest user interaction with the advertiser via on-platform or off-platform direct messaging services. That restriction is unchanged.

The rule covers paid ads targeting the United States. Affected industries in the tracker's assessment are Finance, Education & EdTech, and Marketing & Advertising, including agencies running investment campaigns for clients.

Accredited brokerages and licensed financial advisors should complete Meta's financial services verification before running US-targeted investment ads. Other advertisers, and agencies running such campaigns for clients, should pause US-targeted investment ads, including educational or informational investment content.

As of October 31, 2026, the Turkish-language version of the page still showed the earlier text, with its change log ending at October 26, 2026.
