Google has updated its Google Ads help article on generated images to list California, South Korea and Vietnam as places where AI regulations require ads with certain AI-generated or edited assets to include disclosures and/or labels, AuditSocials' Policy Tracker shows. The new wording appears on Google's official help page.
The three locations now appear alongside the European Union, India and New York. AuditSocials' previous snapshot of the page, taken October 2, 2026, listed only those three. The crawler recorded the change on November 5, 2026, and AuditSocials rated it medium severity. The page gives no effective date.
According to the page, advertisers can add labels directly to creatives or use the AI label setting in Google Ads, Display & Video 360, Campaign Manager 360, Merchant Center and Ads Editor. Google says using the setting doesn't guarantee compliance with specific regulations.
Advertisers whose campaigns serve in California, South Korea or Vietnam should check whether those campaigns use AI-generated or AI-edited assets and add disclosures or labels to those creatives, either in the creative itself or through the AI label setting. Because Google states its label setting doesn't guarantee compliance, advertisers should confirm the local legal requirements with counsel.
