Methodology
AuditSocials News reports only what AuditSocials' own data and official sources show. Stories are drafted with AI, checked by software and reviewed by a person before publication — and each story says so.
- 1 · Collect
AuditSocials checks the official policy pages of eight platforms every day, monitors official regulator websites, and ingests the EU DSA Transparency Database daily.
- 2 · Review
Detected policy changes and regulator signals are reviewed before they are published in the AuditSocials tracker. Only published items become news.
- 3 · Fact sheet
For each story, software builds a fact sheet straight from the database: dates, links, reviewed summaries, and pre-computed figures. No model is involved at this step.
- 4 · Write
An AI model writes the story using only the fact sheet, under rules that forbid outside background, quotes, named people and causal claims the data does not support.
- 5 · Verify
Every number in the draft is checked automatically against the fact sheet. A draft with any unmatched figure gets one rewrite; if it still fails, it is discarded.
- 6 · Review
A member of the AuditSocials team checks each draft against its sources and approves, edits or rejects it. Only approved stories are published, and every decision is logged.
What the numbers are — and are not
- Enforcement figures are moderation decisions that platforms themselves report to the EU under the Digital Services Act. They are not counts of posts or users.
- A rise or fall in reported decisions can reflect changes in how a platform reports, not only how it enforces.
- We do not claim that a policy change caused a movement in enforcement data.
- The latest one to two days of DSA data are often incomplete; the board uses only days for which all eight platforms have reported.
- Facebook and Instagram are reported separately in the DSA database; Meta publishes one policy set for both.
AI disclosure
Stories are drafted by an AI model from AuditSocials data and reviewed and approved by the AuditSocials team before publication. Each story carries a label stating this and the model used. Spotted an error? See our corrections policy.
