Editorial standards
Every story reports only what a primary source or our own data shows, and every story is reviewed by a person before it is published.
Sources
- Every story links to its primary source: the official platform policy page, the official regulator page, or the EU DSA Transparency Database.
- No unsourced quotes. We do not invent or paraphrase-as-quote statements from platforms, regulators or people.
- No unsourced statistics. A number is published only if it comes from the primary source or from AuditSocials data, and it is checked against that data.
- No invented names of programmes, features, cases, fines or deadlines.
- When something is not known — for example, an effective date the platform did not give — we say so.
Enforcement data
- DSA figures are moderation decisions that platforms report about themselves. They are not counts of posts or users, and we do not describe them as findings of wrongdoing.
- We do not claim that a policy change caused a movement in enforcement data.
- Only days for which every platform has reported are used; the newest days are left out until they settle.
- Source: EU DSA Transparency Database, CC BY 4.0 — shown on every chart and table built from it.
AI and human review
- Stories are drafted with AI from a fact sheet built directly from our database.
- Software checks every figure in a draft against that fact sheet; a draft that fails is not published.
- A member of the AuditSocials team then reviews each story against its sources and approves, edits or rejects it. Nothing is published without that approval, and every decision is logged.
- Each story states that it was drafted with AI and reviewed before publication.
Scope
We cover how platforms set and enforce their rules: ad rejections and ad policy, account restrictions and bans, content removals, monetisation changes, and the regulator actions that shape them.
